A Tiger in the Kitchen, is the story of a Chinese-Singaporean ex-pat who learns to infuse her New York life-style with the wealthy lessons of the Singaporean kitchen, in the end reconnecting along with her family and herself. Indeed, when she first arrived in 1948 along with her husband, Paul, she spoke no French and knew nothing in regards Rachel Cooke to the nation itself. But as she dove into French tradition, buying food at native markets and taking classes at the Cordon Bleu, her life modified forever.
